🏭 Major US plant investment: GE Appliances, part of China’s Haier Group since 2016, will invest USD 3 billion over the next five years in production sites in Kentucky, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and South Carolina. It’s the second-largest investment in the company’s history.

🇺🇸 Production reshoring: Manufacturing of gas stoves from Mexico, as well as six refrigerator models and several washing machine models from China, will be relocated to US plants. The goal is to produce closer to the end customer.

👷 New jobs: More than 1,000 additional jobs will be created, along with extensive modernization and automation of plants. Partnerships with schools and universities aim to meet the demand for skilled workers.

📦 Production expansion: In South Carolina, output of electric and hybrid water heaters will be doubled; Tennessee will see new air conditioner models added.

📈 Long-term strategy: Since 2016, GE Appliances has invested USD 6.5 billion in its 11 US plants and distribution network. The company generates more than USD 30 billion in annual economic value in the US and supports over 113,000 jobs directly and indirectly.
