📱 Growth amid losses: Despite total users climbing from 680 million in June, nearly 60% of AI-native apps lost active users in the same period — a sign of rapid market consolidation.
🧩 Where’s the usage? 287 million people use standalone AI apps, while 706 million access built-in AI features in existing apps. The focus is clearly on super-apps rather than standalone tools.
Watch: Competition is brutal. For newcomers and smaller players, the “window of opportunity” to scale profitably is closing fast. Without a sharp vertical focus, strong retention, and cheap distribution, survival is tough — consolidation favors those with reach and bundling power.
