KOSTAL met Daimon Robotics during a China company visit organised by Asiabits. Two weeks later, the German automotive supplier and the Shenzhen robotics company agreed on a joint proof of concept.
The visit and the introduction
KOSTAL's programme with Asiabits covered five days and twelve company visits. It gave the team a way to examine China's robotics industry and explore where an automotive supplier could participate in the humanoid supply chain.
Asiabits organised the visit programme and introduced KOSTAL to Daimon Robotics. The technical collaboration is between the two companies.
A proof of concept for production tasks
In our August 17 project report, we described the next stage: four tasks had been selected from KOSTAL's production for robot training in Shenzhen. The plan was then to continue training and evaluate the robot on the production line in Shanghai.
Wider use would depend on the results of that evaluation.
